After we bought our christmas tree in frankfurt... well, let me start with that first We originaly wanted to get ourselves a tree with a living root, so we could plant it in my garden, like we did years ago as tradition - so to revive that tradition. But when we found out that the largest trees with roots onle measure a few 50cm, we decided to this christmas get ourselves a huge tree and take one with a root after christmas, when they are cheaper. The tree we found is magnificent. A dream pf a bushy thick green norseman fir tree.
On saturday we wanted to go for a long walk in the taunus that we sadly forestalled because of the too rainy weather and after driving here and there doing this and that we jus relaxed for a while. In the evening however I was invited in one fine restaurant - and I may say that I surely will not forget such fine taste for a long time.
We visited the "lodge" in Kronberg. Lodge-Kronberg "Beef's Finest" They are situated directly otop of the opel zoo with a beautiful vista over the zoo down the vallay to frankfurt. We had a crystal clear night with hald moon shining down on us as we sat there in the fine wooden ambience, choosing out dinner. The quality, no only of the beef, but also of the waitors, the restaurant and everything was supreme. I had a lodge cut filet mignon with rosemary potatoes and fresh beans. It was a dream...
Here are a few impressions of the lodge. If you have the time, and the mind to enjoy yourself with high class and enourmous good beef, go there and enjoy
Sunday we lingered with some testing and trial of continous integration server that simply resisted integrating emma reports into its user interface statistics. Finally I was able to "integrate" cobertura stats into its ... well... display. But ifs more a workaround then a fix and took a lot of my nerves to have it done. But the rest of the day sure was beautiful as dew. Tillkum took me to Darmstadt into the Jugendstilbad Darmstadt where we spend the evening together, relaxing, enjoying and over all - having a great time.
The spa is a refurbished old spa from the early 1900s that was only recently reneved with its historical charm underlined and kept. The spa consisted of two bathhouses: the old gentlemen house and the ladies house. The last was bombed down in the war and was rebuilt now to house a modern spa area with selen, natrum, hot, cold, sauna and a lot of other interesting tubs and areas.
The charm of such an old building rebuilt and modernized fascinates me a lot. They really were able to integrate the new and comforable accesouirs with the charming style of the art nauveau.
Thank you so very much for this wonderful weekend and gift you made me, Tilli!
snuggles I'm so glad you liked it. It was a very wonderful weekend, and yes, the meat was delicous (ok, my beef steak was not as good as your filet mignon but it was ok . hugs you tight
The SPA was indeed very nice ant the building was interesting. I still have the smell of the saltwater in my nose
Yea Me too. The colorchanging underwatermusic tub was interesting. Sadly it was so "crowded with noisedwarfs". But if that would be missing it would be great for relaxing I presume. The coldwatertub was interesting too. Made me feel like wearing tight long socks giggles
And yes - my hair also still has the scent of minerals on it and feels soft.
